All over the world, there is a movement to shift to renewable energy sources.

With a clear limitation on the expansion of the use of fossil fuels, these renewable sources of electricity are the way of the future.

Wind energy is one of the cleanest forms of renewable energy.

This is a tremendous source of energy, though only a fraction of the total wind power can be commercially exploited. Estimates indicate that the wind energy potential in India is around 45000 MW as against installed capacity of about 2000MW.

Reliance Energy Ltd.'s efforts to develop clean electric power in the country have been reflected through our entry into the field of non - conventional energy sources. We have commissioned a 8.37 MW Wind Farm Project at Jogimatti, Taluka Hiriyur, District Chitradurga in Karnataka state in Sept.1999. The company has also commissioned 1.8MW Wind Farm Project in June 2003.  The estimated project cost is Rs. 41 Crores. All the 36 windmills have been commissioned and have started commercial operation. The above Wind Farm Project are expected to generate about 23.94 MUS (million units) annually.
